NEW BLOG ON BLOCK

Well, this is my first blog post and I have absolutely no idea what to say, having just failed at uploading a picture - bah! A 'techie' I am not. I'm sitting here in my office in Gascony (south-west France) and it's steaming hot, even with the fan going full blast. That's not the best working condition for a writer. I find that too much heat blocks the concentration, but having said that, I live in what I call my 'petit paradis' and it's here that I've known success as a writer after many years of trying. This morning I pottered about, not really doing much at all, apart from helping monsieur with the woodman - monsieur doesn't speak French, so I have to translate. We had coffee in the patio under the parasol and lunch in the back garden on the swing seat in the shade of a hawthorn tree looking at our very dry garden, but there is, nevertheless a gorgeous pink and feathery albezia tree in the centre which is flowering beautifully. Oops! Picture now appearing! Yes, that's me. Now, before it decides to disappear, I must save and get back to the writing. As soon as I have a minute to spare, I'll have a go at uploading some shots of 'petit paradis', as well as talk to you all about what I've done/am doing/am planning for the future etc., etc., Nice talking with you.

Hi June!

For a non-techie, you did a great job with your first post. It is lovely to put a face with your name.

Very nice photo of you, June.

Your success with the pictures encourages me to have a go, though as my blog is a book column, not a personal diary, putting up book covers might be a bit more tricky.

Anyway I'll have a go at it next month.

Hi June
Very impressed with your blog, and the photos. I am going to experiment with one myself - were they difficult to download.

The photos were reasonably easy to download, but when I came to download photos of my books it didn't work. I must try again, and get my novellas on show. Publicity is everything to a writer, so a blog is a huge asset, as long as people look in, that is.
