THE GLORY GIRLS!

I managed to meet the very tight deadline and in less than 4 months THE GLORY GIRLS was finished and submitted, days before I went on holiday. On my return to France, I found an e-mail from my agent saying it had been accepted - talk about being cockahoop! I've just signed the contract and am waiting to hear when it will be published - but probably sometime in 2007 since it coincides with the centenary of the FANYs (First Aid Nursing Yeomanry) and the Glory Girls of the title are FANYs during the Second World War. The research was pretty horrendous, even though I used a tiny fraction of what I turned up from books, Internet and the FANYs themselves. The next step will be editing, liaising with the professional editors of Robert Hale, and, in the meantime, I'm writing something entirely different.
